DENMARK. Danish Forum for Critical Muslims announces a “critical dialogue” with danish Hizb ut-Tahrir members and sympathizers. The proclaimed goal is to keep muslims away from extremist environments, and the initiative is supported by the british Hizb-ut-Tahrir ex-member Maajid Nawaz.

The islamist organization Hizb ut-Tahrir is not prohibited in Denmark despite several attemtps by political parties to ban the organisation.

“Danish Forum for Critical Muslims” is lead by notorious Sherin Khankan - known for e.g. advocating a “democratic caliphate”. Two years ago Khankan characterized Hizb ut-Tahrir as peaceful. (2006).

Since Sherin Khankan does not oppose the islamist views of Hizb ut-Tahrir, she and her dubious organization are to be counted among the enemies and not the supporters of the open society. Probably the “critical muslims” just saw an oppurtunity to benefit from the growing antipathy towards HUT in the danish public opinion - and maybe a “dialogue” with the taxpayer funded public integration-business.

Springtime brings more than flowers and love. It´s also high season for forced Islamic marriages. The pressure on danish women’s crisis centres has exploded to almost 350 clients of non-danish origin during 2007. According to Danish Broadcasting Company the number is expected to increase in 2008.

Kristeligt Dagblad has recently reported a 75% increase in immigrant women attending crisis centres during only the last 12 months. Kristeligt Dagblad did quite a remarkable interpretation of this tragic development, while presenting it as a sign of successful integration.

A legal mo-toon copyright fight has brought out between the creator of the world famous mohammed drawing Kurt Westergaard and the danish anti-islamic organisation SIAD. International site: SIOE (Stop Islamisation Of Europe).

SIAD announced that they would use reproductions of the drawing in a demonstration march 14 against a danish bank, that recently introduced sharia loans. Kurt Westergaard claimed copyright over the drawing and threatened the organisation with a lawsuit.

Instead of using the original drawing SIAD showed up with a burka-wearing Mohammed. “If you don´t like the picture. Go home. “

There is no doubt, that Kurt Westergaard legally owns this drawing. It is also understandable that KW doesn´t want to be associated with the questionable SIAD organisation. On the other hand it could be argued, that the widespread use of the drawing and its importance has made a copyright claim absurd.

An 82-year-old lady carrying this banner in the SIAD protest was violently attacked by a young muslim male. He was immediately arrested by the police.
